A deep-iris overdye that the dyer let pull back in places to leave the undyed silk-mohair showing through — cream pooled into violet like mist rising over a darker garden. Two matched skeins from one run.

The colour reads as a single saturated violet at first glance, but the longer you look the more the cream undyed mohair surfaces — ribbons of silver pulling through the indigo, a soft halo on every twist. Beautiful as a stripe partner to a darker fingering; equally beautiful left alone on a single-colour lace shawl where the cream moments become part of the pattern.

About the base. Hand-dyed by an anonymous indie artist on Isager Silk Mohair — a Danish mill classic, 75% super kid mohair / 25% silk, spun to a fine lace gauge of 848 m / 927 yards per 100 g skein. The mohair gives a soft, glowing halo that catches light the way frost catches sun; the silk holds colour with the quiet intensity that mohair alone can’t. Worked on its own it knits airy and translucent — the colourway floating in a cloud rather than sitting on a strand. Held double with a fingering or sport, it adds a halo of colour over a plainer base, the way watercolour adds depth over a pencil sketch.
