This skein paints a warm pewter-grey field with handful sections of burnt orange and oxblood wine landing across the strand — the colour is hand-painted rather than dipped, so each section sits in long, irregular runs and the join lines blur where the brush overlapped. The studio's signature on the Shimmy base is the deliberately-blank colourway field: Dalis paints each Shimmy skein as a one-of-one, so naming a colourway would imply repeatability she's not going to honour. Working from a Dancing Leaf skein is closer to working from an artisan handspun than from a named dye-house colourway — you finish the project and the exact next skein isn't coming. This skein is in original-twist condition with the studio band still on, colourway field blank as intended.
