Hedgehog Fibres' Sock base is the flagship: 85% superwash merino / 15% nylon, 383 yd / 350 m in a 100 g skein, finished as a round 4-ply that holds up to actual sock wear without losing the bounce. Hedgehog's signature is splash-dyeing — speckles flicked onto a saturated ground rather than painted in stripes — and *Pool* is one of the clearest examples in the catalogue: an emerald-and-aqua ground with rust and ochre speckles flicked across the strand for a wet, oxidised-copper effect in the knit fabric. Best worked at 7–8 sts/inch on a US 1–2.5 (2.25–3.0 mm). Hand wash cold; lay flat to dry.
