About the yarn:

Wollmeise Pure is the studio's flagship: a 2-ply 100% superwash merino fingering, 574 yd / 525 m in a generous 150 g skein, with the dense, deeply-saturated dye work Wollmeise is collected for. The colour goes all the way through the strand rather than skimming the surface — Limone reads as a true cadmium-yellow semi-solid, and Saami layers oxblood, rust, olive, and brown into the long-color-run gradient typical of the Pfaffenhofen studio. Gauge sits at 7–9 sts/inch on US 0–2.5 (2.0–3.0 mm); the 150 g format means a single skein is enough for a substantial shawl, and the pair is enough for a colour-blocked sweater accent or a generous striped shawl.

Rohrspatz & Wollmeise is Claudia Burkhardt's hand-dye studio in Pfaffenhofen, Bavaria — founded in 2006 and, two decades on, still one of the most-collected indie hand-dyers in the world. The studio's release model is intentionally scarce: Wollmeise colourways drop in small windows through her own webshop and a handful of trusted partners, sell out in minutes, and rarely come back as the same dye lot twice. Limone and Saami are both Pure-base hand-dyes — Limone a long-running saturated yellow semi-solid, Saami a deep autumn multi named after the Sámi people of northern Scandinavia. Both skeins are in original-twist condition with the German-language Wollmeise Pure band still on each one.
