4 skeins of Bobbin. When it's gone, it's gone.
Four matching skeins of Plucky Knitter Yakpaca in 'Bobbin' — undyed, softly heathered putty-brown, the colour of a yak in winter and an alpaca in afternoon sun. The Yakpaca base has been retired from the Plucky line and is not in their current Base Library; four matching-lot skeins is the kind of find that ends up on a long-haul project list.
The Plucky Knitter is a Detroit-area boutique known for collector bases and small-batch colours. Yakpaca paired 50% yak with 50% baby alpaca for a worsted that knits up halo-soft with a quiet hand-cooled drape — the yak gives the heather, the alpaca lengthens the staple. The studio has since pruned its line and Yakpaca no longer appears on their site, which is why undyed natural lots like this one keep getting rarer.
50% yak / 50% baby alpaca · Worsted weight · 250 yards per skein (4 skeins — 1000 yards total).
Colorway: Bobbin.
Curator's Cabinet — discontinued. When this skein is gone, it's gone.
Lovely for: a four-skein (1,000-yard) yoke sweater with cabled hems, a long lopapeysa-style colourwork yoke against a darker solid, or a two-skein cowl + matching mittens set. Yakpaca prefers structured stitch patterns; it shows off cables and slipped-stitch ribs and blooms gently after the first wash.
Care: Hand wash cool, lay flat to dry. Yak halos with wear — block firmly on the first wash and let it relax into its drape. Cedar storage; alpaca attracts moths.
Condition: new with band. Four 100g, 250-yard skeins, same dye lot, all original Plucky bands intact. Sold per skein.
