About the yarn:

Uptown Sock is SKEIN's single-ply 100% superwash merino sock base — 400 yards in a 100 g skein, spun fine enough for a fingering sock and round enough that the colourway reads in the knit fabric. Single-ply construction is what makes the hand-painted multis read the way they do: there's no second strand to break up the pooling, so *Namaste* knits up as long unbroken washes of jewel-tone purples into blues into greens into golds before the cycle starts again. Best worked at 7–8 sts/inch on a US 1–3 (2.25–3.25 mm); the gauge is forgiving, but a slightly tighter sock gives you the colour shifts at full saturation. SKEIN bases are superwash; machine wool cycle delicate, lay flat to dry.
