SKEIN's Slinky MCN was the studio's plush 80% superwash merino / 10% cashmere / 10% nylon fingering — 365 yd / 334 m in a generous 110 g skein, plied for the soft drape MCN bases are known for with the nylon content keeping it hard-wearing enough for socks. Gauge sits at 7–8 sts/inch on US 2 (2.75 mm). *Wild Apple* is a tonal hand-dye in cool, mossy apple-greens shifting into chartreuse — a near-solid colour palette that reads as a single quiet shade at arm's length and resolves into a hand-painted gradient up close. Slinky is a discontinued base, so the colourway-on-base combination here is effectively unrepeatable; a replacement won't be coming back from the studio.

SKEIN (skeinyarn.com) is the Australian indie dye studio founded by Kristen Finlay, working in small kettle batches out of New South Wales. The studio runs a small rotating lineup of merino, MCN, and BFL bases hand-dyed in tonal and gently-variegated colourways — Kristen's palette tends toward botanicals, fruit, and weathered-pigment colour stories rather than saturated speckle work. Slinky MCN was the studio's plush merino-cashmere-nylon fingering before it was retired, and finding a full-skein Slinky in original-twist condition is genuinely a back-catalogue pick at this point. *Wild Apple* is a tonal apple-green hand-dye from a small Slinky run; this skein is in original-twist condition with the SKEIN band still on.
