1 skein of pale pink/lavender with magenta+indigo splashes, white Wensleydale locks. When it's gone, it's gone.
A handspun art-yarn skein from FatCatKnits, the long-running handpainted-tops-and-batts studio that's been on Etsy since the early days. This one is built around a pale pink-and-lavender base with deep magenta and indigo splashes, drafted long against curly white Wensleydale wool locks that ride the surface of the ply. The original hangtag is still attached — fibre list in the spinner's own hand, 43 yards / 5 oz, lot 02 12-03.
Fibre (off the spinner's tag). Merino & other soft wool, lots of silk, Wensleydale locks, bamboo, silk noil, silk threads, angelina. The Wensleydale gives the white curls that catch on the surface; the silk and bamboo are doing the colour work; the angelina is the glitter you only see when the light hits.

Lovely for: a single-skein cowl on US 13–15 needles where the Wensleydale locks read as texture, the contrast band on a chunky hat, freeform weaving where the locks become surface features, or worked into a tapestry panel where 43 yards is a meaningful plot of yardage at this grist.
About the spinner. FatCatKnits has been hand-painting wool tops and batts and spinning small-batch art yarns out of her Etsy studio for over a decade — instantly recognisable by the handwriting on the tag and the locks-on-singles construction. Each skein carries its own lot code; once a code is sold, that exact spin isn't coming back.
Condition. Excellent. Skein is clean, hand-tied, and intact, with the original FatCatKnits hangtag still attached. Stored in the cabinet between intake and listing.
Curator's Cabinet — handspun, art-yarn, named studio with a long track record, one of one.
