About the maker. My Two Ladies Knitting is a small US studio turning hardwood needles and hooks by hand. Each hook is shaped from a single piece of dense rosewood, with a polished throat that glides through stitches without snagging mohair or lace. The wood warms in the hand the longer you crochet — the opposite of a metal hook in winter.

About the hooks. Both sizes are full-length crochet hooks — not Tunisian, not interchangeable. The smaller F (3.75 mm) is the right size for most fingering-weight amigurumi and lace; the H (5.0 mm) is the everyday size for worsted-weight afghans and granny squares. Each hook is one-of-a-kind in the literal sense — the wood grain is different on every one.

Care. Wipe clean with a dry cloth; do not soak. A light coat of beeswax once a year keeps the rosewood from drying out.
